 في هذا الدرس، ستتعلم كيفية تقديم نفسك و الآخرين (Introducing yourself and others) - المشاركة في المحادثة (Engage in conversation)، أخذ الأدوار (Take Turns)؛ إستخدام التعبيرات المهذبة لجذب الإنتباه (Use polite expressions to seek attention)، إستخدام أسماء الإشارة و فعل الكون لتقديم الآخرين (Using demonstrative pronouns and verb "to be" to introduce others)، هناك مجموعة من الطرق لتقديم نفسك والآخرين. 

تقديم نفسك  (Introducing Yourself)

Here are expressions to introduce yourself:
■ My name is ...
■ I'm ....
■ Nice to meet you; I'm ...
■ Pleased to meet you; I'm ...
■ Let me introduce myself; I'm ...
■ I'd like to introduce myself; I'm ...
■ May I introduce myself?

If you want to introduce someone to someone else, use This is… . To introduce a group of people, use These are... .

This is my husband, Paul.

  This is Gozde, my friend from school.


  These are my children, Camelia, Sami and Yasmine.

These are my parents.


 Here are expressions to introduce others:
 Who’s your friend?

This is my wife …

Darling, this is Omar.

David, please meet Paul. David, have you met Paul? I'd like you to meet Emma.
I'd like to introduce you to Victoria. Emma, this is Anna. Anna this is Emma.
I want to introduce you to … I’d like you to meet…

(Useful responses when introducing yourself or other people) إجابات مفيدة عند تقديم نفسك أو أشخاص آخرين

When you are introduced to someone, you can just say Hello,  or in a slightly more formal situation, say Pleased to meet you.

 Here are expressions to use when introducing yourself and others:

I’m pleased to meet you …

Nice to meet you, …

… Is that you?

Fancy meeting you here, long time no see.

It has been a long time.

I’m pleased to meet you …

Nice to meet you, …

It was good to see you

Good to see you too

Omar saw Sam with a woman on the other side of the road, he crossed the street to talk to them.

Omar: Sam! Is that you?
Sam: Omar! Fancy meeting you here. Long time no see.
Omar: It has been a long time. Who’s your friend?
Sam: This is my wife Nora.
Omar: I’m pleased to meet you, Nora.
Sam: darling, this is Omar, we played on the same basketball team in high school.
Nora: Nice to meet you, Omar.
Sam: We’re about to have dinner.
Nora: Would you like to join us?
Omar: Oh! Thanks. But huh! I’m having dinner with my mother tonight and I must be going.
Sam: Well! It was good to see you.
Omar: Good to see you too, Bye!
Sam and Nora: Bye!
